Cows spend their days eating, chewing their cud (standing up or lying down), walking around, mooing, pooping/peeing, and sleeping. This means that your cuddle companion may eat the entire time you're with them, sleep the whole time, walk/run around, or a combination of any of these. We cannot guarantee any behavior--they're sentient beings, after all. You can still interact with them by petting, brushing, and talking to them, even if they're standing, and if they're eating their hay, you can grab some from the bag and feed it to them--they won't bite (unless you stick your fingers in their mouths--which we do not recommend)! If they do fall asleep, you can cuddle up with them and pet, love, and revel in their sweetness! Please know that this does not mean they need a break, or alone time--if you leave, they usually get up wondering where you went. I promise, if they didn't enjoy this type of interaction with people, 1.) we would NEVER force them to do this, and 2.) they would let everyone know they hated it.
If they poop, we'll come into the stall to remove it for you--just watch your step in between. If it happens when we're out of the barn, let us know when we return so we can clean it up.
When you arrive, ALL new cuddlers will fill out and sign a waiver, unless you are a returning customer. Then, once it's your appointment time, you'll be let into the stall. Walk in confidently, don't be afraid to "push" the cow back like a dog (they sometimes run to the door to say "hi"), and make yourselves comfortable. We have foldable stools to sit on or you can sit on the shavings, if you prefer. There are brushes to use, but your hands work great, too! One of us is usually around off and on to answer questions, keep an eye on things, etc. We do pop in and out for farm chores, eating, and tending to animals, but we are always nearby!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not limit their feed to get them to interact with folks more, and we cannot force them to lay down, stand up, or be more attentive to you, so please keep this in mind when booking, then come with an open mind and heart and just enjoy being in their presence and at the farm!
Hello! I know, I know...I'm a total studmuffin. My name is Biscuit, and I'm a mini Highpark (Highland and White Park cross) steer calf born on 10/7/23. I hail from Pandarosa Ranch in Illinois - the same place Katie Van Slyke got her mini Highlands, so I'm a Midwest guy. I'm basically a big (little) pasture puppy that adores chin scratches, being loved on, giving love, and laying my head in cuddlers' laps. I am the literal definition of a cow hug and cuddle, so what are you waiting for?
VICES
Likes chewing on: shoelaces, hoodie strings, and long hair, or really anything that looks like it would be fun to gnaw on
TALENT
Can zip and unzip coats
There's cute and then there's OMG I'M DEAD FROM CUTE! I might fall under the latter definition. I'm Barley, a mini Highland steer calf born in Illinois (at the same ranch Biscuit came from--Pandarosa) on 1/31/24. I LOVE chest rubs and will take as many of them as you can give me. No, seriously...why'd you stop? I've been known to pass out while you love on me, letting cuddlers get that full cow cuddling experience.
VICES
My dehorning didn't fully take, so my one teeny horn on the left side sometimes gets really itchy...and I might itch it on you
TALENT
When I snug, I snug HARD!! I will MELT into you--if you're lucky! ;)
Hi everyone! I'm Peppermint, Lilly's heifer calf, born on December 16, 2023 at the farm, and I'm an Angus/Holstein and Brahma/Normande cross. I'm a silly, spunky, sweet little girl who could get mistaken for a reindeer at times--and I have ears for dayyyyyys! If you want an interactive cow, I'm her. I will lie down to cuddle, but I prefer to visit with you, giving lots of kisses, and spying on my cow friends.
VICES
Has a serious case of FOMO
TALENTS
Impersonating a reindeer
***I AM CURRENTLY CUDDLING ON SPECIFIC WEEKENDS ONLY - SO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS ON WHEN I'M AVAILABLE!***
My name is Lilly, but my parents call me Lilly Belle. I'm an Angus Holstein cross cow with gorgeous midnight coloring. I like to live life in the slower lane, eat hay, and relax, so if you're looking to zen out, I'm your girl. They say I am the sweetest in the bunch and have never met someone I didn't like. My size may be intimidating, but if those babies are too rowdy for you, book a session with me! I enjoy a good brushing and lots of pets, plus, you can lay on me if you want an extra big hug (no seriously, you really can). Can't wait to meet you and cuddle!
VICES
May have an obsession with sweet feed...ahem
TALENTS
Converting people from being afraid of full-grown cows to being in love with them
